Teenager Died Crossing the Road

On Thursday night, August 6, a teenager died crossing the road.

According to police, the accident happened just after 9 p.m. on Highway 169 at Englewood Road. Jons’ey Jackson, aged 13 was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a car as he tried to dart across the highway in the dark.

Police went on to say that earlier in the day he had crossed the highway with no problems but he was hit on his return journey. He was apparently with a group of other teenagers when he was hit by a car.

The highway was fenced in the area where he crossed to try and deter people from crossing in that area.

The driver who hit the boy stopped and cooperated with police and it is not likely that he will be charged.

Jons’ey’s mother, Latonya Jackson, who has four other children said that she forgave the person who hit him as it was not his fault.

Jons’ey was a talented student with aspirations to be an engineer and then an entrepreneur.
